Thanks for a great 2022 season!

To our entire Driftless community:
Last night we gathered to celebrate the end of our season - we are so grateful for this community, it was fantastic to have everyone together in one place one last time before the snow flies and our minds shift to skis, snowboards, fat tire bikes…or hibernating!
We want to thank everyone who attended last night, for the awesome support you all provided to pull off another delicious potluck (honestly our potlucks are top-notch!) HUGE thanks to the Whyte family for the use of their AWESOME space! Another shout out goes to Waunakee Schools/John Cramer for providing the chairs/tables, and Brad Kerl/Uniek for providing the frames and printing for our athlete awards.
Speaking of which, if you didn’t have a chance to recognize our awesome riders, please see our gallery! We honored those who participated in the entire 5-race series, adventure riders, and our seniors who are saying goodbye to our MTB team after an awesome final season.
Congratulations to ALL of our riders for a fantastic season, and thanks to our awesome Driftless community of families and volunteers who made it all happen!

Season Surveys & Reflection
We have one more important ask of our families, riders, and coaches this season. We are looking for feedback and reflection from our student athletes, families, and coaches. Even though our season events are over for the year, our board, head coach and director team is already working hard to plan our 2023 season! This year, we have two surveys for you to complete.
DRIFTLESS TEAM SURVEY: The first survey is created by Driftless and the results will be viewed by our leadership team to continue to make changes to grow and improve our programs so kids have great experiences with mountain biking. Estimated completion time: 5 min.
ASPEN INSTITUTE SURVEY: The second survey is part of a nationwide project from the Aspen Institute and Project Play, which is a leading non-profit and research organization looking to improve communities through recreation and sports. Our teams have been invited to be a part of a research study that looks at the impacts of youth sports programs. The survey was developed by researchers at Ohio State University and the results will be available for our coaches to review, so we can use the feedback to make improvements within our teams. Estimated completion time: 15 min.
You should have received an email with links for BOTH surveys. Your time and thoughtful reflection is so appreciated so that we have the data we need to make informed improvements and growth for 2023 and beyond!
Oh - and there are PRIZES! For those who complete the DRIFTLESS SURVEY before Thursday, November 10 (one week from today) we will do a random drawing and award several prizes, including FREE DRIFTLESS REGISTRATION for next year! We’ve got some awesome swag to give away, too!
Volunteers wanted!
We’re thinking ahead and while it is fresh in our minds, we’d love for you to consider a volunteer role with Driftless next year! There are a ton of different ways you can volunteer, in a variety of different capacities and commitment levels. We’ve got so many talented people in our MTB community, and we could use your help!

Leadership Positions Available
Last but certainly not least - we will be finalizing our three open Driftless Board of Directors positions: President, Secretary, and Member-at-Large. We are also thinking ahead to team leadership for 2023. We are in need of a Middleton/Cross Plains head coach as well as a team director. Team leadership roles CAN be split (co-head coach, co-team director). Please submit your nominations/put your name in the hat by NOVEMBER 30th.
