who should use sportsyou?

sportsYou should be used by everyone in Driftless; riders, coaches and parents/families can all use SportsYou.

which teams/Groups should i join?

There are a number of Teams and Groups in sportsYou; your role and interests in Driftless will determine which groups to join. For Access Codes to the teams/groups, refer to the User Guide.

i am getting to many notifications/emails? How do i reduce the noise?

whAT DO i have permissions to do in sportsyou?

Posting

Anybody can post and respond to posts in the Driftless MTB channel this will allow for communicating out to the whole team?

Only admins can post to the School channels. We have set it up this way so users can setup their notification preferences to not alert on new posts on the Driftless team, but can subscribe to notifications on the school teams so they get notified for important or timely communication from Head Coaches and Directors.

Chatting

Chatting is disabled from within the Driftless team. NICA puts an emphasis on protecting our student athletes from abuse and by disabling chat, we are putting all online communication done through SportsYou in a public forum where everyone can see it. The one exception to this is anybody can chat to a Head Coach and/or Team Director.

Chatting is enabled from within the Driftless Coaches team. Because these teams should ONLY have adults, we have allowed for adult-to-adult private communication for coaches to directly communicate with one another.
