Week 5: Fun events, raffles, and more!
It’s the time of season that gets busy with all the FUN additional activities beyond practice! Take a look to see what other opportunities exist for your riders outside of practice, learn more about our RAFFLE, and a special announcement in this week’s Driftless TEAM NEWS...
PS - don’t forget to keep adding your TEAM PHOTOS to our shared album!
RAFFLE TICKETS
Each team has a raffle coordinator who can provide you with tickets! Families/athletes can sell (or purchase!) tickets for $10 each OR 10 tickets for $120. This fundraiser is a fantastic way for our team to earn funds, and the prizes are awesome. The league has told us there are even more prizes than last year’s raffle! Ticket sales go through October 8th…let’s see who can sell the most tickets! This is an awesome fundraiser for our team/league, and it is really simple and straightforward. In case that’s not enough incentive…
We will provide FREE Driftless team registration next year for the athlete who sells the most raffle tickets this fall, and the top FIVE athletes will receive $20 to spend at the Trek Store AND a discount card for any one order at 100 Percent (helmets, glasses, gloves, and apparel!)
NOTE: See last week’s post for even more detail!
CAMROCK ADVENTURE: THIS WEEKEND!
August 12; check-in opens at 8AM, course opens at 9AM
This awesome, league-led event is full of fun and community. Check out the details and make sure you are registered in Pit Zone! (This is an additional step beyond our usual Team Snap availability, because this is a league-sponsored event!)
Please RSVP in Team Snap or communicate with your team’s head coach(es) if you plan to attend this awesome event! Ride groups will be created/led by our team coaches!
Coaches, you do not have to register in Pit Zone, but the league asks that you please register (at no cost) at this link.
GRiT GATHERING
August 19; 1-4 PM at Blue Mound State Park
Calling all female-identifying riders and coaches! (Coach dads are welcome too!) Come join us for a fun GRiT Adventure event at Blue Mounds State Park, jointly-hosted by the Driftless and West Madison MTB teams! We’re bringing local Dane Co. riders together to hit the trails and enjoy some social time/snacks post-ride at the Friend’s shelter near the trailhead.
There will be a ride group for every interest and ability level. The new Gneiss trails out at Blue Mounds are great for riders of any ability. Those who want an extra spicy challenge can try the climbs on Over Lode! The longest Gneiss loop and Holy Schist offer some great in-between options. You get to choose your own adventure for the day, and decide how long, how far and how hard you want to go.
We’ll have plenty of off-the-bike activities and snacks for when you are ready to stop riding, along with both indoor and outdoor areas to hang out.
Please RSVP in Team Snap as soon as possible so that we know how many snacks to bring. We can’t wait to see you there!
PRACTICE ATTENDANCE
As noted last week, we officially PASSED week 4/one full month of practice. As part of our rider and family agreement signed at the beginning of the season, we asked that all riders attend at least FOUR practices within the first month of our season. If you have not yet spoken with a head coach/team director about attendance, and your athlete has not attended 4 practices, we will be reaching out.
CLOTHING ORDERS
Mark-It has finished printing our clothing orders and they will be available to pick up at practice on Thursday!
