NORDIC MTN: RACE INFO, SCHEDULE

A quick update before we head to Nordic Mountain, where we will eat hills for breakfast (and lunch) and have a great time in the cool fall weather! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO ENSURE YOU ARE PREPARED.

TEAM SCHEDULE

Here is the latest and greatest start list for Nordic Mtn! (Make sure to select the tab for NORDIC MTN -- all others are "grayed out" - so if your list is all light gray, you're on the wrong tab.)

Here is our general Saturday schedule. Remember that we included a TON OF INFO in our weekly update, including a TROPICAL TEAM THEME, sign ups for snacks, and our pre-ride schedule (with some pro-tips for what kinds of rides will happen at different times) - please review it if you haven’t done so recently. We also ask that you review the WI Event Guide for info.

BE ON TIME!

On race day, please make sure to be at the race venue well ahead of your warm-up time. Parking takes time, walking to the pit zone takes time, athletes need to get food/hydration, plus any layers ready, PLUS race plates on your bike & back. Ultimately, it'd be great for riders to be there all day to help cheer on your teammates!

DRESS APPROPRIATELY

It's going to be chilly (relatively speaking); make sure to dress accordingly. It's important to wear layers so you stay warm during warm-ups and all the way up until you're ready to stage. The coach helping with staging can take your extra layers, etc. back to PitZone for you. For the forecasted temps (highs in the low 50s), we would recommend the following:

  • A long-sleeved baselayer for under your kit (or a long-sleeved kit)

  • Leggings or baselayers to wear under your baggy shorts while racing

  • Gloves (full finger) if you tend to get cold hands; make sure these are grippy and flexible enough to shift/pull brake levers SAFELY

  • OPTIONAL: Neck warmer or gaiter

  • DRY, warmer layers to change into after your race

Use Saturday’s pre-ride day as a measure of what kind of layers you’ll want for the race. Remember that you’ll be riding at a strong effort on Sunday, so you won’t need quite as many warm layers.

Etiquette reminder: Passing

During practice recently, we heard "look out!" rather than "can I pass when you have a chance, please" — we all know better — let's make sure to be awesome humans and use proper etiquette. On the trail at race weekends, you represent our team and our entire community. Race with integrity and respect.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! See you soon at beautiful NORDIC MOUNTAIN!
